Google has announced its plan to remove Universal Analytics for good. Google Analytics 4 is Google’s next-generation measurement solution, and it’s replacing Universal Analytics. On July 1, 2023, Universal Analytics’ standard properties will cease processing new hits. If you still rely on Universal Analytics, we recommend that you prepare to use Google Analytics 4 going forward.
Timelines:
- Your Universal Analytics properties can collect and use new data until July 1, 2023.
- In your Universal Analytics property, you will be able to access previously processed data for at least six months after July 1, 2023. During this time, we strongly encourage you to export your historical reports.
- The date by which existing Universal Analytics properties will no longer be available will be announced in the coming months. After this future date, you’ll no longer be able to see your Universal Analytics reports in the Analytics interface or access your Universal Analytics data via the API.
